Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Remove the rear wheel. To do this, you need to loosen the axle nut with a 14mm socket and a breaker bar. Then, use an impact driver to remove the four bolts that hold the sprocket carrier to the wheel. Slide the wheel out of the swingarm and set it aside.
  2. Remove the rear brake caliper. To do this, you need to use a 12mm socket and a 14mm socket to remove the two caliper mounting bolts. Then, use a 5mm allen to remove the plug and the pin that hold the brake pads in place. Slide the caliper off the rotor and hang it with a wire or a zip tie to avoid damaging the brake hose.
  3. Remove the rear brake rotor. To do this, you need to use a 6mm allen to remove the six bolts that secure the rotor to the wheel. Be careful not to lose the spacers that are between the rotor and the wheel.
  4. Install the new rear brake rotor. To do this, you need to apply some blue loctite to the threads of the six bolts and tighten them with a 6mm allen and a torque wrench. The torque specification is 25 Nm or 18 ft-lbs. Make sure to align the spacers correctly between the rotor and the wheel.
  5. Install the new rear brake pads. To do this, you need to grease the pin that holds them in place and slide it through the holes in the pads. Then, insert the pads into the caliper, making sure that the tabs on the front of the pads fit into the slots on the caliper. Secure the pin with the plug and tighten it with a 5mm allen.
  6. Install the rear brake caliper. To do this, you need to push back the piston in the caliper with a large flat screwdriver or an old brake pad. This will create enough space for the new pads to fit over the new rotor. Then, slide the caliper over the rotor and align it with the mounting holes on the swingarm. Apply some blue loctite to the threads of the two caliper mounting bolts and tighten them with a 12mm socket and a 14mm socket and a torque wrench. The torque specification is 35 Nm or 26 ft-lbs.
  7. Install the rear wheel. To do this, you need to align the wheel with the swingarm and slide it in place. Then, use an impact driver to install the four bolts that hold the sprocket carrier to the wheel. Tighten them in a crisscross pattern. Finally, tighten the axle nut with a 14mm socket and a breaker bar.
  8. Adjust the rear brake pedal. To do this, you need to check that there is some free play in the pedal before it engages the brake. If not, you can adjust it by loosening or tightening the lock nut and turning the adjuster bolt on the brake rod.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8 for the front wheel and brake.
  10. Test ride your bike and enjoy your new brakes.

Congratulations! You have successfully replaced your brake rotors and pads on your CSC RX1E electric motorcycle.
