Product Overview

CSC Motorcycles Announces New RX1E Electric Motorcycle

The new RX1E follows the legacy of CSC’s other successful electric vehicles: the City Slicker runabout, the efficient Wiz errand-runner, and the gorgeous Monterey scooter, as well as its full lineup of electric bicycles.

The new CSC RX1E is the friendly and efficient way to get into the exciting electric-vehicle market. The electric powertrain means you can turn your back on expensive gasoline, and its twist-and-go operation leaves the hassle of clutch control and gear selections to machines of the past.

The RX1E’s upright ergonomics provide a comfortable and in-command riding position for the remarkably agile machine, making it ideal for the cut and thrust of navigating city traffic. A low 30.9-inch seat height makes the RX1E easy to manage, and it even has a reverse “gear” for assistance when maneuvering in tight spaces!

Three ride modes are available at the push of a button: Eco, Comfort, and Sport. When you have the need for speed, the liquid-cooled electric motor delivers a robust 61.2 lb-ft of torque at the twist of your wrist to vault the RX1E to 60 mph in less than 9 seconds. Top speed is about 80 mph, and electronic cruise control is a premium feature that is standard equipment.

A quality Bosch ABS system helps keep you safe, even on low-traction surfaces, and a durable belt-drive from renowned OEM supplier Continental provides quiet operation. A centerstand eases maintenance duties, but almost none are needed – there’s no oil to change, no valves to adjust, and no noisy chain to lubricate.

Charging the RX1E is as easy as connecting to a 110-volt power supply. Simply plug in the bike at night, and you’ll always have a fully charged battery in the morning. The 96-volt, 64Ah lithium-ion battery can be charged from empty to 100% in 6 hours. With 6.16 kWh of juice on tap, you can expect 40-80 miles of range depending on the power mode, rider's weight, and riding style.

The RX1E’s adjustable suspension takes the sting out of bumpy, potholed roads. Up front is an inverted fork, while the rear suspension consists of an adjustable monoshock and a trellis swingarm that wouldn’t look out of place on a high-end Italian motorcycle.

Behind the standard windscreen sits an LCD instrument panel that keeps track of speed, range, and the status of the battery and the motor controller. The cockpit includes a USB interface to keep smartphones fully charged along your journeys. The front brake lever is adjustable to suit different hand sizes, and feet are kept comfy by removable rubber inserts on the serrated metal footpegs.

Included with the RX1E are standard saddlebags and a top box providing 72 liters (19 gallons) of storage room for a variety of cargo items, making it ideal for commuting and running errands. Sturdy metal framework around the battery and saddlebags prevent damage in the event of a tip-over.

    RX1-E

Posted by Bill Buchholz on Oct 22nd 2024

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to fly on a magic carpet, this bike will tell you all you need to know. Smooth, quiet, peppy, absolutely fantastic. I will never go back to engine motorcycles. Much of motorcycling is about the engine, but if you take that out of the experience then what's left is simply moving through space with grace. As close to perfect as it is, I did make some changes. The top box is moved ahead to improve the looks and to create a back rest for when waiting for the lights to change or when my feet are on the highway footrests I mounted to the crash bars. The silly "boy racer" scoops on the side of the gas tank are gone. I installed a larger windshield so there is almost no wind at up to 50mph. The charging time is faster than promised, and I am getting 80 miles per charge without trying too hard. The analog speedometer is great, and I love the "gas pump" icon for low battery warning. With sunglasses or tinted goggles the digital side can be hard to see in some light, but most of that info isn't so important, aside from the battery level. This is so much bike for the buck. I hope the new import duties on Chinese vehicles don't apply to these.

    RX1E Motorcycle Review

Posted by Mike on Aug 28th 2024

For the price, I don't think this electric motorcycle can be beat! This is my first bike, I've had it for about 7 months so far, and I've already put over 1000 miles on it. It's my primary mode of transportation, even in colder weather (I installed heated handlebar grips). I mostly ride on neighborhood roads, but I occasionally take it on the highway. Does great on both, although sport mode is required for the highway. I'm usually able to get around 60-70 miles from a full charge. Charging from an empty or almost empty battery takes about 3 hours. I did get the level 2 adapter, but I haven't tried charging it at a public charging station yet. I love the storage on this bike, I can run all my errands and have plenty of room for groceries or other supplies. The locks could be easily pried open, so don't rely on them to keep valuables safe. There's only one design choice that annoys me. If you're stuck at a traffic light for a long time, not moving, the bike automatically goes back into park mode. If I don't catch that it happened, it takes an extra few seconds to figure out why it won't move, and get out of park mode and moving again.

    RX1E Electric Motorcycle

Posted by David Willingham on Mar 31st 2024

This is my first motorcycle. I haven't ridden a motorcycle for over 30 years. And let me say, this thing is FUN!!! Unboxing the bike was a chore, but I was so excited when it got here, I didn't care. After I put on the windshield, mirrors, and top box, I gently used the Reverse button (cool feature, btw) and rolled it off of the pallet. Again, I couldn't wait to see it in action. So, in shorts, tshirt, and tennis shoes, I took it for a spin around the neighborhood. I quickly discovered the power! Even in Comfort mode I realized I needed eye protection! I have taken it for a ride almost every day since it arrived, even in the rain a couple of times. It handles really well, feels very balanced, and grips the road nicely. I am thrilled with this motorcycle! CSC was very responsive during the entire process of buying and shipping! Thank you!!

    CSC RX1E

Posted by CB on Jun 9th 2023

Took delivery of an RX1E a couple of days ago and here are the first impressions. -First and foremost, it is a pretty great ride. This was my first ride on an electric, and it is SOOO quiet. It has good acceleration off the line - it feels very quick from 0-40 ish. A little longer to get up to highway speeds, but I had no issue maintaining speed for a couple of miles on the highway. I’m not a pro rider by any stretch, but to me this feels and handles very similarly to a standard dual sport adventure bike. More than adequate for a mixed riding commute, including highway time. -Mixed riding range seems to be around 85-90 miles per full charge. Will be less at freeway speeds. -Fit and finish of parts is somewhat lacking, but that is to be expected for a bike in this price range. Some of the plastic panels feel pretty cheap, especially the lid to the center storage where the gas tank would be. But you also aren’t paying what you would for a Zero or Livewire, so again at this price point you can’t really complain. -My only real complaint about the bike so far is the weight. For an 8KW motor and 64 aH battery that seems pretty heavy. I suspect it is due to a steel frame, while other more premium bikes have aluminum alloy frames. I would drop a star for fit/finish and weight, but at this price you can’t really expect more. -One other complaint - the display is quite dim. Hard to see in sunlight. Also has some weird icons - like one that tells you when the bike is moving (completely useless) but lacks useful ones like when cruise control is engaged. Luckily the spedometer is analog. -Initially I put down money on a pre-order for a Metacycle, and I can tell you my experience has been night and day in dealing with the two companies. Metacycle has HORRIBLE support. If you’re on the fence, I think going with CSC is worth it just for customer support and availability of spare parts alone. Plus this is so much more bike than a Metacycle. Very happy so far! v
