Removing the Front Panel & Headlight on Your CSC Monterey Scooter
This tutorial guides Monterey owners through safely removing the front panel and headlight for maintenance or repairs.
What You'll Need:
- #2 Phillips Screwdriver
- Needle Nose Pliers
- Flat Screwdriver
Removing the Headlight:
- Locate the 2 fasteners (screws with washers) securing the headlight.
- Use the #2 Phillips screwdriver to remove these fasteners.
- Twist the headlight counter-clockwise to release it from its locking tabs (demonstrated in the video).
- Disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the quick-release tab.
- The headlight is now free.
Removing the Front Panel (Cowling):
- Remove the 4 fasteners (two on each side) holding the front panel.
- Carefully release the 2 plastic auto-body clips (removal tips shown in video).
- Gently but firmly release the panel from its multiple plastic locking tabs (locations highlighted in video).
- Once loose, disconnect the wiring for the turn signals and marker lights.
- The front panel is now completely removed.

- The dash/speedometer
- Speedometer cable
- Brake cables
- Brake light switches
- Troubleshoot electrical issues
