Lithium Battery Maintenance and User Instructions

Testing Page.html

Maintenance

  • Lithium batteries should be kept at around 60% charge when storing for 3 months or longer without use.
  • To prepare the battery for storage it should be drained below 5% its total volume and then charged back up to approximately 60% of its total volume.
  • When storing for greater than 3 months without use the battery should be stored at room temperature with a relative humidity between 45%~85%. Do not let temperatures go below 14°F or exceed 104°F.
  • If battery will not be in use more than six months, it should be kept indoor with temperature of 32°F~95°F,and humidity of 45%~75%.
  • It’s normal that the volume of lithium battery will reduce in low temperature. For a general reference calculation between volume and temperature: 50% available in 14°F 70% available in 14°F, 85% available in 32°F, 100% available in 77°F. Charging your battery near 77°F will charge your battery best.
  • Remove the battery from your motorcycle if you will not be using it for a long period of time. Your battery will experience a low discharge while it is in the motorcycle and if unused for a long period it can drain your battery to levels where it is permanently damaged. In this case, warranty of the battery will not be available.

Instructions

  • Only the original charger can be used to charge lithium battery. Under no circumstances should your battery be charged with direct AC200/110V electricity from the circuit or without the charger supplied with your motorcycle. It’s forbidden to charge your battery with charger of higher voltage. Using a charger other than the one provided can permanently damage your battery. In this case, warranty of the battery will not be available.
  • In order to have longer service life, battery should be charged when the power is less than 20%. Do not discharge battery to 0%, or battery will be damaged because of over discharged. Service life may reduce if battery being charged more than 12 hours.
  • Be careful to not short circuit the charging port and discharging port with metal. Dust cap should be closed when charging and discharging port is not in use to prevent electric shock to user or short circuit caused by other metals.
  • Lithium batteries should appropriate temperatures: charging, 32°F~113°F. Discharging, -4°F~113°F(It’s normal that battery can not be charged below 32° or above 113°F. Please move battery to appropriate temperature environment to charge.)

Manual

  • To start using lithium battery, please discharge battery completely first, then fully charge. This should be repeated 2 or 3 times so that battery volume indicator on speedometer will be more accurate.
  • For improved battery health and life span the battery should be charged before going below 20% and stop charging the battery at 95%.
  • It is best to gradually accelerate and prevent quick battery discharges to extend the battery service life.
  • Batteries should be fully charged and fully discharged at least once every three months to help calibrate the BMS for more accurate readings.
