Monterey Fairing Removal

 

Tools Required:

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Flathead Screwdriver
  • 10mm Socket

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the lower rear mounting screw of left side of fairing.

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the (2) screws and washers from the middle rear mounts on the left side.

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the lower rear mounting screw from the right side.

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the (2) screws and washers from the middle rear mounts on the right side.

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the top screw from the front fairing mount on the top right side.

 

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the top screw from the front fairing mount on the top left side.

 

 

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the middle screw (longer screw) and washer from the front fairing on the left side.

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the lower screw and washer from the front fairing on the left side.

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the middle screw (longer screw) and washer from the front fairing on the right side.

 

Rotate the ignition switch cap counterclockwise and pull out.

 

Pull the right side storage pocket up and away from the fairing.

 

 

Lift the front fairing cover up and away from the fairing.

 

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting screw from behind the storage pocket on the right side.

 

Lift the left side storage pocket up and away from the fairing.

 

Disconnect the USB charging port and then remove the left side storage pocket from the fairing.

 

 

 

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove the mounting screw from behind the storage pocket on the left side.

 

Use 10mm socket to remove the two mounting nuts and washers from the seat hinge.

 

Use flathead screwdriver to push out the pin from the small panel in the front right of the seat compartment.

 

 

 

Use flathead screwdriver to push out the pin from the small panel in the front left of the seat compartment.

 

Use the palm of your hand to firmly “bump” the front panel up.

 

Remove the front panel from the seat compartment.

 

Use Phillips head screwdriver to remove (3) screws and washers from the rear fairing mounts under the front panel of the seat compartment.

 

Lift up the fairing and remove it from the Monterey.
